Privacy Policy

Shipboard is a free public board where builders post their websites for exposure. It's operated by the Shipboard team. For any privacy question or request, email ryanships@gitshipped.com.

Only what you give us or what's needed to run the board:

• What you post: the site URL, title, description, category, your display name, and X handle. This is public by design — posting a listing means asking us to show it.
• Your email address — only if you use “email me my link” or ask us to send it. We use it to send your private edit/manage link and, occasionally, updates about Shipboard and @ryanships. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• An avatar — either an image you upload, or your public X profile picture, which we display by linking to a third-party avatar service.
• Basic technical data your browser sends (like your IP address), used transiently to rate-limit abuse and keep the board working. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

We don't ask for passwords or accounts. Your ability to edit a post is tied to a secret link we give you — keep it private.

• To publish and display the listings and builder profiles you submit.
• To send you your private edit/manage link when you request it.
• To send occasional Shipboard and @ryanships updates to email addresses we've collected — never more than that, and every message has a one-click unsubscribe.
• To detect, prevent, and respond to spam, abuse, and technical problems.

We do not sell your personal information.

We don't sell or rent your data. We rely on a few service providers who process it only to run the board on our behalf:

• Supabase — database and file storage for listings, profiles, and uploaded avatars.
• Netlify — hosting and content delivery.
• Resend — sending the emails you request and the occasional update.
• unavatar.io and X — if you link an X handle, your public X avatar is loaded from these services to display it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of Shipboard and its users.

• Unsubscribe from update emails anytime using the link in any message, or by emailing ryanships@gitshipped.com.
• Edit or remove a listing using the private link we gave you when you posted, or by emailing us to take it down.
• Delete your data — email ryanships@gitshipped.com and we'll remove your listing, profile, and email from our records.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. We honor those requests — just contact us.

We keep listings and profiles until you or we remove them, and email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Shipboard isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

We may update this policy as Shipboard evolves. When we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top. Continuing to use Shipboard after a change means you accept the updated policy.
